Auckland Distribution To-day BIG DROP ON LAST YEAR

AUCKLAND, Last Night. A sum estimated at aboUt £157,000 will go into eirculation to-morrow, the prompt date for the distribution to growets itt the Auckland province of the first of the new season's woolcheques on aecount of the Auckland sale held on November 27. This compareg with £439,270 obtained at the opening ailction last year and £240,154 at thfe cofresponding fixtute in 1935. At the time of the auction it .was estimated that there had been a clearance of only about 30 per cent. However, a number-of growers sold later by private treaty and it is now expected that the final figures will show a clearance of abbut 45 per cent. from the preliminary calcilations. The average T>rice per bale shouid be in the vie.nity of £14. This compares with £20 10/6 per bale reeeived for the first sfile last teason and £12 2/per bale for the November fixture in 1935. The figure for last year was exceptionkl, being the highest since £22 11/- was recorded in 1928.
