7orbury Park Club Protests Against Restriction SUPPLYING WOMEN PATRONS

A decision of the South Dunedin Licensing Committee, that women were not to Be supplied with liquor or allowed inside the booths at the spring meeting of the Forbury Park Trottlng Club was charaeterised as being responsible for a ridic-ulous position, by stewards of the club at a meeting last night. "We have been made the laughing stock of the whole Dominion," declared one member, and the president, Mr Irwin, said that the superintendent of police and saveral members of the licensing committee viewed the enforcement of the restriction unfavourably. It was decided to ask the licensing committee to reeeive a depntation. At the same meeting the stewards decided to again ' adopt single-pool betting for the Cup meeting, a motion to revert to the' Forbury system being defeatecT. Stakes for the Cup meeting were increased from £4190 to £4259,,
