"LEARN TO-SWIM" WEEK
Heretaunga Club's Proposed Sessions adults and children To ensure that there will be a syatematic and efficient arrangement for the "Learn-to-Swim Week" campaign to be condueted next week by the Heretaunga Swimming and Life Saving Club, a meeting of instructors is ,to be held at the baths this evening. It is proposed tMt the seheme be outlined, and some definite plan of e/aching be formulated to give- the maximum bonefits. Only instructors and pupils ar© to be sllowed at the Maddison baths during the coaching hours, and striet privaey will be observed during the sessions. As far as is possible it is intended that instructors shall coach the same pupils cach evening. In this way it is felt that pupils will derive greater confidence and it will be possible for greater eontinuicy in coaching to be obtained. The qlub proposes to conduct three sessions every evening from Monday to Thursday inclusive and the hours arranged are as follow: — - Adulrs only: 6.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children under 14 years: 7 p.m. t© 7.30 p.m. Children over 14 years: 7.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It must be understood that' the club is concerned only with teaching the pupils to swim and .to improve swimming. The club provides other facilities for coaching those who have leant to sivicn already, and only non-swim-mers will be given tuition next week.
