Coats Off.
Generally an every-day topic of diseussion, the weather this morning was particularly commented upon in Hastings ae the result of the chaiige that kas taken place following the brief spell of rain. The atmosphere was unusually humid and exceptionally tiring. On all sides one heard unfavourable comment and in the majority of offices coats and waistcoats were discarded by the menfolk. Hotel Changes Hands. The freehold of oue of Wellington va old and well-known hotels, the Western Park Hotel, Tinakori road, has been purchased by Mr Otto Ballin, Of Ballin's Brewei'ies, Christchui'ch. A lease of this hotel has been procured by Mr J. R. Lane, son-in-law of Mr 29. T. Home, formerly host of the Alhambra .Hotel, Wellington
