The annual general meeting of the Hawke 's Bay Permanent Building and Investment Society will be held at the society 's office, Tennyson- street, Napier, on Thursday, December 23, at 4.30 p.m, The Northern Hawke 's Bay Greyhound Raeing Association announce that the next race meeting will he held 1 at League Park, Napier, on Saturday afternoon, the first race being scheduled to commence at 2.30. With the incr ealing popularity of "tin hare" racing it was considered advisahle to instal an electrically-driven plant, the "hare" being now #propel'led round a semicircular course of 440 yards. A running commentary of the xaces will be given over the sound system and music will be provided between the races. ■V - The secretary, Public Works Tenderis 'Board, Wellington, invites tenders up to A p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, for the erection of a transmitting station at Opapa, in connection with the National Broadcasting Servi.ee. Specifications may be seen at the Public Works ofiicc, Napier. The Napier Harbour Board invites tenders up to Saturday, December 18, for the carting work required by tne board for the year 1938. Specifications available at the Harbour ' Board oflice, Napier. To-morrow ^(Thursday) will find the Hastings High Sehool onee more the scene of festivity in the form of the annual Parents* and Old Pupils ' Day. A wide range of students ' work will be on display, and with a cricket match between school and old boys, tennis, and other attractions, this should alford an excellent opportunity for parents, old pupils, and friends to see the latest .developments at the school.
