WELLINGTON, This Day. The immediate expansion of meteorological seryices for the assistance of aviation in the south-west Pacific by the establishment of additional reporting stations, anct the reeeipt of more frequent and specialised reports from stations, aireraft and shipping observers, and progressively more effective cor-relation of meteorological gervices of the whole of the Pacific are proposed in Vesolutiong and recommendations adopted at the meteorological conference whicn sat at Wellington last week. It is propose'd that provision be made for point-to-point communication between terminals. Proposals are for the arrangement of broadcasts of the more detailed station reports in specified order, and that nve issues of a national or contiuental type shall be made at fixed hours daily from the Netherlands, East Indies, Australia, New Zealand, - Eiji and Samoa, and that oue intema* tional collective issue shall be made at fixed hours preferably from a station in Australia, If these proposals can be put into effect, the area Jurveyed will cover a great part of the southern hemisphere and will link up with the northern hemisphere gervices, making possible a correlated study of weather data from above and below the equator.
