Child Who Played Truant v A truancy prosecution, brought- before Mr J. Miller, S.M., in tlie Hastings Magistrate's Court this morning resulted in Mrs Jerry Smiler, of Fernhill, being finc l 10/- with costs, for failing to send a child to school. For the defendant Mr W. Selwyn Averill, stated that she had seen the boy og to school, but- he had been in the habit of going past it to join other boys playing truant. ^
