DOG ATTACKS BOY
Alsatian to be Destroyed HASTiNGS COURT CASE ."I think that the dog . should -be destroyed,* there may be serious consequenc'es for you if it.attacks someone again, as it may maim someone for lif e," said Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Hastings Magistrate 's Court this morning to Kara Fraser, a Napier taxi driver, who was charged witn possessing a Alsatian dog which attacked a schoolboy in Hastings. The case was adjOurned for a week, upon defendnat consenting to have the animal destroyed, the penalty to be fixed ne?t week. Some schoolboys had been walking along Willowpark road, said SeniorSergeant (-r. Sivyer. The dog had leaped, and, without provocation, had- bitten one ot them. The bite was not a serious one. The owner told the Court that the dog was quite friendly and not savage, altliough he admitted that it had bitten the' boy. When the senior-sergeant referrecl to a previous action in regard to the same dog, he • said that it was proved soon after that a different animal had been concerned. \ The case was adjourned.
