Most of ihe candidates returnedi wero non-political The State Australian Labour Partv exeeutive made a bid to capture many of the councils, hut the results disclose that it again failed, holding a majority in only sevenvmetropolitan industrial centres. A feature of the metropolitail cbntests was- the defeat at Glebe of 12 Australian Labour Party candidates, including four retiring aldermen, by a team endorsed by the local Labour League.
