Annual Picnic Outing at Tomoana Showgrounds The annual pienie of the Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers' Association was held on the A. and P. Society's Showgrounds, Tomoana, on Saturday, and was a very successful and enjoyable outing, Among the guests present were Mr A. E. Jull (ex-M.P. for Waipawa), and Miss Jull, Mr Fisher, general manager of - Frozen Products, Ltd., and Mrs Fisher, while apologies and greetmgs were received from the Hon. W. E. Bamard, M.P.; Mr T. C. Brash, president of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation. In welcoming all to the gathering, the prosident of the association, Mr J. H. Milne, suggested that thq younger folk should, before next picnic, submit their ideas to the committee, .with a view to iaore novelty being introduced. It is hoped that this suggestion will be seriously taken up. Mr Milne also thanked the A. and P. Society for the use of the beautiful showgrounds, and Messrs Frozen Products for their liberal gift if ice cream. During the afternoon the Ralph Paynter tug 0' war shield was competed for and was retained by the Haumoana team after a olose pull with Havelock North.
