Installation of Officers

WAIPAWA, Last Night. The fortnightly meeting of the "Loyal Abbotsford Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held last evening, N.G. Bro. N. MacPherson presiding over a good attendance of members. Visitors were also jyresent from the Loyal Meeanee and Loyal Ruahine Lodges, and were accorded a hearty welcome. Response on behalf of the visitors was made by Sister Waite (Ruahine) and Bro. Armstrong (Meeanee). A letter conveying seasonal greetings was received from the Loyal Gisborne Lodge. One new candidate was initiated into the Lodge. The officers-elect were duty installed by P. G. Bro. E. Kingston, assisted by P,D.G.M. Bro. E. Waite, and D.D.G.M Bro. C. White. The following supporting officers were appointed: — Warden, Bro. F. W. Holt; Guardian, Bro. T. Turner; Pianist, Sister W. Fair; R.S.N.G., Bro. H. Dyer; L.S.N.G., Bro. W. J. Miller; R.S.V.G., Bro. J. Vasey; L.S.V.G., Bro. J. Cable. Bro. Waite congratulated the lodge on the manner in which the ritual work was carried out, and on havi:|g secured the first award in the Central Hawke 's Bay section of the Shield Competition. At the conclusion of the meeting an indoor bowls competition was held, resulting in a substantial win for the visiting teams. A delightful supper was served by the social committee.
