EXPANSION OF AIR DEFENCE
Further evidence of the expansion of the air wing of the defence system is afforded by the publication of advertisements inviting applications from young men for enhstment to the ground staff of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and for appointinent to short servico eommissions. Sucoeasful applicants for commissions will be trained either at the Flying Training School at Wigram or in England and will serve in the Royal Air Force or the Royal New Zealand Air' Force for four or five years on the active list and five or six years on the reserve list. The personnel being enlisted as ground staff will serve in various aireraft trades, as blacksmiths, fitters, wireless operators, storekeepers, clerks, and unskilled men.
