The film tells of th'e transformation on the operating table of a dangerous, implacable killer into a gentle, honest citizen, who then uses his talents and genius to study and succeed in the practice of medicine. Bellamy appears in the title role, with Thurston Hall as the doctor responsible for his "regeneration" ; Marian Marsh as the girl with whom he falls in love; Isabel Jewell as his onetime girl who refuses to give him up even after the surgeon's sealpel has completely clianged him and blanked his memory; Ward Bond as his former pal who remains loyal to the end; and others in supporting roles. The climax mounts in the final courtroom scenes where Bellamy stands trial for the crimes he had committed as his former self.
