The trend of the market can he gauged "by the values offered for the following descriptive lines which were representative of the clip submitted: — In from Porangahau, a bright, faivly sound clip, showing a good erimp, mada for 48/50 's A hoggets 12^d. The fleec-j wools, similarly grown, realised for A lld and for B 10|d. Down from Gisborne, a carding typo of hoggets 50/54 's, quite sound and showing a good yield, realised for the top grade 103d and for the second 10id. Grown. in the Te Aute district, a line of hoggets 50/54 's, mixed in length, showing good quality, but tender, brought for A 12d and for B lld. In from the Maraekakaho district, a carding type of hoggets 50/56 's, very free for Hawke's Bay, and better grown. than the average for the province, realised for a grading of AA llfd and A lld. The first crutchingp were in fair order.to bring 7Jd. From the Gisborne district, a well grown, sound and bright clip, in good Order throughout, made for the A hoggets, which were 50 's and better, and showing a good crimp, 12£d. The ewcfleeces brought for A lljd, B lld, O llfd, D 9*d, necks lOd, A pcs 9fd., and bellies 8Jd. In off the Havelock hills, a clip, slightly off colour, and touched with burr, made for A hoggets 50/54 's, 11 }d, and for B 10fd. The wether wool, also colojir^ being a carding 50^48 "a
and rather tender, brought , for A 10Jd, and for B 9fd. Necks macle lOd, first pcs. 8fd. and bellies 7fd. In a coast clip from Porangahau, suitable for carding, showing fair styfc but a little tender, the A hoggets 50/56 's shorn as lambs, made llfd. The fleece wool 48/50 's brought for A 10fd ahd for B 9d. The fleece wools, in a nicely grown coast clip, suitable for carding, '48/46 's which was just spoilt from being a specialty through being touched wi'Ji seed, made for A llfd, and for B 12fd, The preparing lot out of this clip mad* 12fd. Down from Mohaka, an extra-flne crossbred, quite well grown but-dusty and log-stained, 56/58 's in quality. brought for A llfd, B lld. In from Fernhill, a clip, heavy witu burr and grown under draughty condvtions, the hogget wool of 50/56 's qua'iitv, made lOfd, and the A ewe wool Od. From Kotemaori, a clip, Tather off colour, log-stained, containing pumice, rather tender and showing a modernto yield, brought for the A hoggets 56/ 54 's in quality llfd, B lOfd, C 10d, 1) 9d, E 9Jd. The same condition applied to the fleece wool in this clip whicn made for B 9d, C 9d, D 9d, E 9d, cross bred 9d, necks 9f d, A pcs 9d, B pcs 83d| « The bellies which were dirtv and rather heavy in condition brought 7jjd. locks 5d, first crutchings 9d and seeond crutchings 7fd. From the coast, a clean bright clip, the bulk carding, touched with seo'I, mMe f9r A. _ ... J.

Eeclassed in the store, a carding clip in from the coast, quite sound and in good order, brought for A lOfd, h lOJd, and pcs 9fd. From Gisborne the ewe fleeces 50/ 48 's, a good carding type, sound, rather off colour and showing a little seed, made for A 9fd, and for B 9fd. The lambs under this brand were not attractive, being of an ordinary type, with a moderate yield and realised llfd In the same clip, the B pcs made 8fd, S pcs 8fd, and bellies 7d. In from the coast, a useful top-mak-ing clip, mixed in quality and length, and very light, made for A fleece lOd, B 9fd, neeks and pcs 9d. Down from Wairoa, a top-making clip, off colour, dry and rather harsb. brought for A hogget lOfd, B hogget 9fd, A fleece 9fd, and B 9Jd. From Gisborne, a fairly bright cardding type clip, in good order, made for the AA hoggets, showing 54/50 's quality lld and the A lOfd. For the fleeca wools A made lOd, B 9fd, necks lOfd, lst. pcs 9d, and bellies 7fd. The first lambs, which were not a specialty roj, brought 13fd. Among the binned wools, medium Southdown brought lld. Extra fine caTding hoggets 58/56 's brought 12fa. The same quality hoggets off colour made llfd. Medium hogget 50/52 's carding, but tender, realised lOfd. A simtlar quality hogget, sound but not showing quite such good type, made >0fd. Fine crossbred carding 50/5'2's, gooo style brought lOd. Medium crossbred 48/46 's good style made lOfd. Fine ciossbred 50 's average style realised lOd. Medium crossbred 48 's, average style, brought 10d. Ordinary style crossbred 46 's made lOfd. Fine hogget 52/56 's, unshorn as lambs, a good preparing type, brought lOfd. Medium crossbred preparing 48/46 's realised 9fd. Fine crossbred 50 's average style brought 8fd. Fine crossbred of similar quality but off colour realised 10d.„ and medium crossbred 48 's also off eol- , our made lOd.
