R.A.F. Squadron's Flight to Australia and Back LONGEST UNDERTAKEN

(Received 3, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 2. The Royal Air Force squadron'e flight to Australia will be the longest formation flight undertaken by the Air Force, and by the time the squadron roturns to England next May it will have covered 30,000 miles. v The squadron comprises five "London Second" flying-hoats under tho command of Wing-Commander LloydEach flying-boat, which has twin eugines giving 920 horsepower, is equip* ped with wireless. Oue boat is detailed as a guard ship to remain in constaiit wireless toueh with the Air Ministry and headquarters of the Royal Air Force Command, and hourly progress reports will be wirelessed to these "points.
