BLENHEIM, This Day. Shape was given to the part to be played by Marlborough in tlie ohservAnce of the New Zealand centenary in 1940 last evening when Mr. T. Lindsay Buick, convener of tlie historical seotion of the national and provincial . schemes, gave an address to a meeting 1 of the Marlborough committee. The scheme to be recommended to the provincial execxltive includes the marking of notable historical events by pilgrimages to Cook's landing place nt Sljip Cove, also to Port Underwood, whern sovereignty over the South iRland was proc.laimed by Optain Nias and Major Bunbury on June 17, 1840, and to tlie scene of the Wairau massacre. A special feature of the proceedings was an undertaking given by Mr. Buiclc, at the request of the committee, to extend his boolc "Old Marlborough" hy the revision and Ihe adtTition oi chapters coverinor suhsequent pefiods.
