Duke of Kent in Incident at Luncheon CHAIRMAN'S REMINDER

(Received 3, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 2. Reminiscent of the occurrence during the Duke of Gloucester's tour of Queensland, the Duke of Kent was concerned in an incident at a luncheon at the Newbattle Abbey Educational Centre when his attention was drawn to the non-smoking rule. After luncheon the Duke and his party lit up, whereupon Mr Edmund Hughes, chairman of the Students' Committee said: "I heg to remind you that no smoking is allowed in the din-ing-hall." After a few moments the Duke smilingly walked to the lounge to finish his smo'ke. '
