NANKING BOMBED
Japanese Claim to Have Shot Down 13 Opponents FLAGSHIP ATTACKED (Beceived 3, 2.45 p.m.) SHANGHAI, Dec. 2. Two Chiaese plans, after bombing Japanese transports anchored off Woo•ung and damaging two, carried out a eurprise rajd over Shanghai. They attempted to hlow up the Idzumo, the Japanese flagship. alongside the Japanese consulate. They dropped one bomh in midstream. Meanwhile, six Japanese planes raided Nanking. The Japanese spokesman claimed that they engaged 30 Soviet* built Chinese machines, 1'3 of which wero shot down. All the Japanese planes xeturned safely after bombing the eity ancf the aerodrome. A number of Japanese hombers dropped hombs near the aerodrome in the north city at Canton, causing large tires.
