DUCHESS OF NORFOLK VISITS MASTERTON CONVENT
The Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, who lias been the guest of Mr and Mrs D. H. S. Riddiford, Longwood, Featherston, yesterday visited St. Bride's Convent, Masterton, and St. Patriclc's School, in company of the Rev. Father Carmine, Carterton, Mrs Riddiford, and Captain and Mrs Grace White. They were welcomed by the Rev. Mother Margaret Mary and the community, and after inspecting the cliapel and the dormitories, were entertained at morning tea at the convent. The head prefeet, Maureen Carroll, welcomed the Duchess on behalf of the pupils, and Margaret Hoar presented her with a bouquet. The Duchess is to leave for the South Island to-night and ex4pects to .mpnd Gbrictm"s nt Aifklnnd.
