Satisfactory Position at 1 Waipukurau

WAIPUKUBAU, Last Night. Tlie number of men on the employment register at Waipukurau is ten less than at this time a year ago. There is a total of 43 men under the contro'J of the Department of Labour, and onJy four of these are on sustenance. Only six men now remain on the Tukituki stopbank work, four or fivo having left to take up seasonal farin work. On the aerodrome job there are at the present time 24 married men and iive smgle xnen, and four men are working at the secondary school levelling the grounds at the back of the building A large number of men will be absorbed when work is begun on the publie swimming baths in Hunter Park. This work is to be carried out by unemployed single men under the supervision of an officer of the Public Works Department. Plans for tlie construetion of the baths are at present being prepared and the construction , work will be.gin as soon • as these art ready.
