Hastings NOVEMBER FIGURES Pive new dwellings and two sets of twin-flats were autborised by tbe borougb building department in Hastings last month, and constitute the major portion of the new building operations in the borougb during tbat period. Tbe figures generally sbow a substantial decline on those for tbe corresponding period last year. It is interesting to note that tbe five new dwellings cost £3,930, an average of'£786 apiece, wbile the flats, wbicb are being erected in Avenue road and Lyndon road, cost £1,451 and £1,375 respectively, or an average of a little over £700 for eacb compartment. Tbere were 17 perm;ts issued last' montb, tbe estimated value being £9662 as compared witb 27 permits for £20,928 in November of last year. Details of last montb 's returns, as supplied by tbe Inspector, Mr G.
