Arrangements for To-night Mr T. Ireland presided over a full atten.3an.ce of members of the management eommittee of the Te Awa Swimming and Lif e-saving Club, All arrangements were finalised for the opening club night, which is to be held this evening in the Municipal baths. This season's prospects are most encouragingt and good .competition should result judging from the entries received for to-night. The first learn-to-swim instruction is to be held prior to the club night from six till seven o'clock. Parents desirous of having their children taught to swim by competent instructors should not hesitate to bring or send them to the baths at six o'clock to-night. For club eup competition it was de--cided to commence the aggregate points as from the opening night. The official club opening day is to be held at the pavilion on the beach on Saturday, December 11. The MeGee and Snaddon cups for schools' competition will be decided on Wednesday, December 15, in the Municipal baths. The following programme for the second club night, to be held on December S, was drawn up: — Junior boys, 33 1-3 yards; junior girls, 33 1-3 yards; intermediate boys, 50 yards; intermediate girls and senior ladies, 50 yards; senior ment 50 yards; 6pen breaststroke, 66 2-3 .yards; junior relay, diving, football relky, teams' race. It was reported that every Napier club was represented in the football clubs' relay for the Callinicos cup; This promises to be an exciting event, and it will be interesting to see which club holds superiority in the water.
