Ashley Clinton Meeting At tke Ashley Clniton Women's Institute's montkly meeting tkere was a goqd attendance of members. Miss Wilson presiding. " Mesdames Britton and Dampney gave a demonstration on dress-form making, Miss Wilson being tke model. Competitions resulted: Sometking new out of something old, Mrs F. Severinsen; Christmas . present, value 2/-, Mrs Persen; best bloom, Mrs Pedersen. Afternoon tea-was served by Mrs C. Thomson and Miss Dampney. Tangoio Meeting Tke November meeting of tke Tangoio Women's Institute was keld at tke residence of Mrs. Mabony, Mrs. Lowe presiding over a good attendanee of members and welcoming one visitor. Miss Fraser, of Kotemaori. One new member, Miss P. Jessep, was elected. It was decided tkat donations be made to tke Leper • JTund and tke sckool Christmas tree fund. Arrangements were made for tke usual Christmas treat to be keld in December. Mrs. Osborne gave a full and interesting report of tke recent federation meeting and wa/s accorded a vote of tkanks. Ske was also heartily congratulated on being tke recipient Qf a Serviee Badge at tkis meeting. Afternoon tea was tken served by tke kostesses, Mesdames Mahony: and Collins, and tkis was followed by a demonstration of tke making of wobd fibre flowehs given by Miss Conway. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. Hanna. Tke results of tke competitions for the month were as follows: — Christmas gift costing not more tkan one shilling, Miss Conway 1, Mrs. Makony 2; best bloom, Mrs. Osborne 1, Mrs. Mahony 2. A saies table witk Mrs. Osborne in ckarge did brisk business. The baby's layette was won by Mr. H. G. Ford, tkis competition having commenced at tke open evening last montk. After a vote of tkanks to Mrs. Mahony for ker hospitality a most enjoyable afternoon was brougkt to a close witk tke singing of tke National Antkem.
