CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Mr George Lawn, lecturer in econ- , oinics at Canterbury University College, will become full-time economist to the Reserve Bank for a year from next March. The College Council, at a meeting today, granted him 12 months' leaye of absence from his work at the college. Appointed a director of the Reserve Bank in August last year, Mr Lawn is a Government representative on the directorate. He has been a lecturer in economics at Canterbury College for tbe last 10 years. The College Couneil, in granting him leave, asked Professor A. H. Tocker, professor of economics, to make provision for a temporary lecturer for 1938.
