WAIPAWA, Last Nigkt. A meeting of tke eleetorate committee of *tke New Zealand' "National: Party for tke Waipawa electorate wa> keld in the Coneert; Hall last evening. In tke absejaee from tke district of tke chairman, Mr C. G. E. Harker, Mr C. Pattison was voted to the chair, and tkere were 93 delegates present from 21 branches tkroughout tke electorate. A. number of apologies were tendered on bekalf of delegates absent. Tke ekairman referred to tke formation of tkree uew branches — Pukakj, Sherenden and Fernhill — since tke previous meeting, and welcomed tke new members to tke committee. Reports from tke various branches showed tkat there kifd been a kigkly satisfactortv growtk in tke membership. Mrs J. B. Campbell, Havelock Nortk, and Mr G. Forbes McHardy, Omakere, tke electorate delegates to tke divisional conference at , Wellington, presented reports as' to tke proceedings of tke conference and were accorded a 'vote of tkanks. The meeting eonsidered tke nomina.tions reeOived for selection of a ca».ididate, Messrs Jull, O'Reilly and Ormond, and resolved to postpone tke date for selection to Marck 30, 193S. Tke resignation of Mr Harker, ekairman of tke Electorate Committee, from the positkm of ekairman of tke seleo tion committee and returning ofiiecr was received, and it was unanimousiy decided to appoint Mr D. W. MeClurg, general seeretarv of 'tke National Party ■v* " h ai rman and returning officer. Tke meeting, wkich was . thoroughlv representative of all parts in tke Waipawa electorate, and tke spirit skown augurs well for tke future. Tko meeting eoncluded witk a vote Of appreeiation and confidence in tlie executive committee, carried by acclaination, and •a vote of tkanks to tke ekairman. After tke meeting tke women 's section of tke Waipawa branck entertained tke" delegates at supper.
