Auction of 22 Properties "Silence," was ihe disgusted comment of the auctioneer, Mr. J. B. Thompson, wbo offered for sale in Hastings this morning 22 building, bouse, and farm properties for tbe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agencj Ltd., in oonjunction with Mr, T. S. Roulston. The comment was justilied, for not one lot was sold under the haminer. Six only of tlie properties offered evoked a bid, and all i'ailed to meet the reserve. Ten building sites in Hastings, Havelock North, Te Awanga, and Taradale ivere offered, with nine house properties, and two farm properties.
