MILL GIRLS WALK OUT
m w Dissatisfaction at Onehunga DEMANDS T0 BE F0RMULATED AUCKLAND, Last Night. Chiefly because of dissatisfaction at being changed to different looms through the operation of short time, 27 girls employed on piece rates in the Weaving department of the Onehunga Woollen Mills, Ltd., failed to resume work to-day after a meeting itt the luneh hour at which it was decided not to Undertake duty until their alleged grievanccs Wero i-ectified. IgnofaHce of the fact that there had been aaythiag in dispute between tho managerneat and the girls of the weaving depaftme&t was exprfissed by One of the proprietors of the company. He said that the company had faithfully observed an the cOaditions of the award, and when tho girls walked ont they gave no reaSOnS to. the management. Althoug .. 27 girls only are so far engaged in the disptite, the weaving Section is the key section of the mills. The secretary of tho union, Mr T. Mills, iS oilt of Auckland fOr the weekend, but tlie girls are lioldiiig a meeting to-morrow to formulate their demands, and hope that a conference will be arranged on Mottday between the uuion and the managemnet.
