Despite the fact that tho atmosphere was rathor chilly, good ilelds cnterod for the various events. No small part oi, tho enjoyment of the evoning was occasioned by the excellence of the controi. Though early in the season, the performances wero mOst satisfactwry, and there yvas wsre a number of iirst-rato and exeiting tinishes, the. crowd being provided with a splendid "night's ento*' tainhient.
