WAIPUKURAU THEATRE
"CALL IT A DAY" TO-NIGHT AND SATURDAY. For a couple of years in London and then for over a year in New Ycjrk* there ran with great success a play by an Englishwoman, Dodie Smith, entitled "Call It a Day."
» It delighted audienees because it was "different." In fact, nothing just lilco it had ever been presented before. It was the story of the reactiohs of the various members of a nice suburban family to the first touch of Spring, with its balmy, pulse-stirring warmth and fragranee. They all fell in love— or at least they thought they did — which. seems perfectly natural. But at the end of the evening, when they were all ready to "Call-It a Day," well, that was something different. Husband and wife of the family, are lon Hunter and JFrieda Inescort, both faraed on gtage and screen. The young daughter of the house is Olivia de Havi.land, fresh from her triumph in "The Charge of the Light Brigade." Peter Willes impoTted from the London r-tage is the young son. Youngest daughter is Bonita Granville, wlio played the "brat" in "These Thiee. " A family friend is the droll Rolaud Young, with Aliee Brady to aid and abet. A "girl next door" and the ob;ject of tho yotmg son's •affections, ia the lovtly Anita Louise. , Reserv^ at Hawke % phoue S82.
