Clive ' .'500' ' Tounxey. Thet usual weekly "500" card even ing was held in the supper-room of the Clive Hall on Wednesday, but, owing to Ihe weather conditions, there were not as many players as usual. The ladies ' .prizes were won by Mrs Barton Smith and Mrs Largen, and the gentlemen's by Mr Algy Harrison and Mr _ Birch. After cards supper was served by the Hall Committee.
Clive Memorial. The plot surrounding the War Memorial at Clive has been cleaned up. The garden has been dug and new plants put in, and altogether the effect is a very pleasing one. Thanks are dne to those TJho have taken such an interest in the memorial. Exhibition of Birds' Eggs. A collection of bver 60 different varieties of birds' eggs, presented to the Waipukurau primary school by Mr Vernon. Richards, of Waipukurau, an old-poilp of the school, was placed on display at the school on Wednesday for the first time. The eggs are mainly those of birds, in New Zealand, but there are also a number of Australian specimens. Waipukurau Band. _The Waipukurau. Municipal Band will play in Ruataniwha street on Saturday evening and ,at the public hospital on Sunday afternoon. Rifle Shooting.
