ONGAONGA, Last Night. A committee meeting of the .Ongaonga Sports Club was held in the hau oji Monday evening. There was a go'ol attendance, under the chairmanship of Mr U., Holden. The following were proposed and elected as new members of ihe club: vMessrs. D. ..Mackie, C. Moran, W. Ross, R. Ross, W. Freemautle, W. Te Tau, F. Ooles. ]\lr K. Dailey was elected to the i cominittec. The chairmau of the ground8 committee reportell on the state of the grounds and track. He said that the grounds in general were in good order. Mr A. W. Parsons has offered to pro vjde all hurdles for the horse events. His rffer was accepted with thanks. Messrs Parsons and A. Freemantle were thanked for donations towards the club funds. The committee of the Makaretu Sports Club is to be asked for the loan of their hurdle wings. Mr Mackenzie-For.bes was elected as juage for the Highland and national dancing events. The provisional programme as presented by the progralnme committee was adopted. As this meeting will be the 50th anniversary of the club's activities it wae decided to call the meeting the jubilee meeting and to call one event in each main seetion a jubilee event, with doubled prize money. - it was decided to include a fat lamb competition. After the judging of the lambs is finished a short lecture on tho pomts aof a good lamb or its reari'ng will be given by a competent lecturer. The Hastings Amateur Wrestling Club is to ,be invlted to bring along a number of teams. The following officials were elected: Starters, Mr A. D. Lynch (athletic) and Mr H. J. Nicol (axemen); referees Mr W. Leach (athletic) and Messrs E. Worsnop, H. "Worsnop amd G. Wilson (axemen); timekeepers, Mr R. R. King (athletic) and Mr J. Watkins (axemen); gatekeepers, Mr F. Ross and auother to be seleeted. It was decided to write a letter of thanks to Mr E. Maefarlane, the club's auditor. The Hawke 's Bay Automobile Association is to be asked to have a traffi-i co|ntrol officer present at the meeting.
