Little Theatre Society Plays Last Night ATTRACTIVE SETTINGS Smart and colonrful frocking and an attractive stage setting were two muchappreciated features of the presentation last evening of "Antkony and Anna.," a three-act comedy by St. John G. Ivine, wrhich was given by members of the Hawke's Bay Little Theatre Society. The plays presented this year by the society have been very much enjoyed, and as a result the andience at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, for last evening' s performance was a splendid one, and the pleasure which they felt was expressed ixi their applause. The scene for the play was the Inn of St. Peter's Finger, the first act being in the dining-room, and the second and third acts were set in the lonnge. In each scene lovely bowls of flowers, sweet peas and scarlet roses gave an added. touch of colour to the setting, where attractive and suitable furnisbings were used. For her first appearanee, Anna (played by Miss Christina Williams), wore navy blue slacks with a tomato shaded skirt and later changed into a frock of blue Macclesfield silk. In the second act she wore a black cloque frock with high neckline and short sleeves and having a wide sash of deep lime green silk, and her last appearanee was made in a frock of flojvered linen. This was cut with a higli waist and full skirt, and a cluster of red roses at the waist matched' her red sandals. Lady Cynthia Speedwell (played by Mrs. Selwyn Averill), wore a very smartly tailored coat of fine tweed in a navy blue and white pattern alxd having an unusual s-lit-skirt.
