MONTHLY INGLESIDE
Port Caledonian Society There was a large attendance at the monthly ingleside of the Port Caledonian Society. In the absence of the Chief J. McConnell, Chieftain Macdonald extended a hearty welcome to the visitors. . A fine programme Of national and elassic daneing, comprising Highland fling, operatic dance^ novelty dance "Ladss and Lassies," hornpipe, "Komance of the flowers," dance revue "Selections from foreign folk dances," descriptive dance, "Menders of the nets," sword dance, Irish jig, Seann Triubhas, nautical' dance trio, skippmg dance, Highland, reel, trio "fancy free," Highland fling, Irish dance sketch "A bit of Ir eland," was arranged by Miss Lillian Swann, and danced by her pupils, a'ssisted by other dancers. Mr W. Mitchell played the music for the classical and fancy dances, and Pipe-Major Lawson and Piper Campbell for the national .dances. The two pipers also eontributed selections. Mr and Mrs T. H. Berry played for the usual programme of modern and old-time dances. Mr W. J. Key was an efficient M.C. Chieftain Macdonald at the concluision of the programme thanked Mlss Swann and her jpupils. Mr Key took occasion to refer to the inlpending departure for Gisborne of Mr and Mrs Berry who had provided the music for all of the club's inglesides since the formation of the society three years ago, and who had rendered such" valuable service. A hearty expression of appreeiation of Mr and Mrs Berry 's services was passed by acclamation".
