STILL EMPEROR

Sellassie's Defence in Civii Claim (Eeceived 25, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov, 24. Haili Sellassie's solicitors accepted the writ served on behalf of Mr Leo Chertok, the American, who took a prominent part in the plan to lease a large part of Abyssinia to a group of international finaneiers ten years ago, and who is suing Sellassie for £23,000 for cash advanced and commission. As soon as it had been accepted, the solicitors gave notice of their intention to apply to the High Court to have it set aside on the ground that Haili Sellassie is still a sovereign and, therefore, exempt from any proceedings.
