STOLEN LAMB

Cost Stevedore Five Guineas Before Messrs A. E. Eenouf and C. O. Morse, J.P. 's, at Napier, Arthur Andrews, a stevedore, was fined £4 for stealing a carcase of lamb, the property of the N.Z. Shipping Co., and ordered to pay 25/-, the value of the lamb. Sexgeant G. Boniscb of Port Ahuriri, who prosecuted, said that the accused had been seen removing part oi* a carcase of lamb from the hold of the . lighter Kea, which was working the liner Middlesex in the roadstead. He took it to the after part of the hold. Enquiries revealed that the two hindquarters had been cut off and an attempt made to cut the carcase rouud thc ribs. " Mr C. W.
