Naval Ceremony

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Tbe ceremony of the delivery of the King's colour to the New Zealand Division of tbe Royal Navy by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, yesterday afternoon, was the occasion of a naval pageant unique in the history of the city, and was watched with interest by a large gathering. The significance of the ceremony was tbe replacement of the old colour by th© nejv. After days of broken weather and high winds and an unpromising morning, the weather cleared remarkably in the early afternoon and 300 ranks and ratings from the Achilles and Leander, headed by tbe Royal Marino bands from botb sbips, paraded in brigkt sunshine.
