THREE NEW STORES
Stores aro to be opened in three of the prosperous secondary towns of New /ealaud( Stratford, Rotorua, and Ashburton by J. R, McKenzie, Ltd., writCS Mr A. W. Diincau, a director of the firm. Mr Buncan says that these threfi prosperous secondary towns will be placed on au equality with the large cities in that tliey will receive all- the advautages of this modern and popular form of business. It is istated that great riValry is beiug shown by the business managei'S in each of these towns as to which will have the most successful opening, and their efforts doubtlesS will be reinforced by the local patriotiism of each centre. "The amOunt of organisation iiecessary for this unique occasion is very great," says Mr Duncan, "ahd may be realised in part from the fact that it has been neeessary to erect large nexv stores at each town. Each of these storcs has boen provided xvith an expensive air-conditioncd plaut for tlie comfort of customers, and l,as ua i'ull a rajigo of goods as available iu tlie meiropolitall eentres. The wliole cnterprise illustrates the vast g-rowth of this niovement in which the 100 per o.ent. New Zealand organisation 'MeKenzies' has taken a leading part."
