Evidence at lnquest Relating to Retired Stevedore

_ AUCKLAND, La»t Night. A verdict that death Was the result of being lost from. tlie vessel Pukeko on October 9 off Gable End forel&nd, East Coast, was tlie verdict of the Coroner>v Mr Fi K, Hunt, S.M., to-day, at the inquest relating to Oharles ! Henry Hough, retired stevedore. Auckland, A ,married daughter, Mrs Grace Chalmers, said that her fathcr, who was aged .71, had; domestic trouble arising out of an unhap'py second m'arriage late in lif 0,' aiid sepafation from his wife. When she aiid lier father left Napier on their return to Auekland he seemed in improved health and' spirits. The1 first night out he retired to his cabin early. Oaptain- F.; Sv Bats, twO officers and a steward gave evidence that Hoixgh was last seen at 4 a.m. wearing pyjamas only, when it was thought he returned from the saloon to his cabin. At 6.15 his cabin was found unoccupied. His bed ShOwed signs of having been slept in. The vesSel went baelc fwo miles and searehed extelisively. The Ooroner added that there was no evidence to show whether death Was accidental or otherwise.
