HASTINGS METHODIST CHOIR

Concert To-morrow Evening In the Hastings Assembly Hall tomerrow (Wednesday) evening at 8 o'clock, the annual concert by the Hastings Methodist choir will be produced under conditions which point to the high l^vel of singingc by this choir being m&intaiuect. The famous Scottish part song, UThe Campbells Are Comin5 " the beautiful Knssian part song, "Autumn," and the well-known but ever-welcome glee, "Awake Aeolian Lyre'' will be among the concerted items rendered. Two English folk songs"The Poacher" and "Come Lasshs and Lads," will prove popular, and " An . Evening 's Fastoralo" and "An Evening's Lullaby" will be well received. Stanley Marchant 's four-part song, "The Traetion Engine" (from "Nonsense Songs") will prove a unique and interesting number. Assist iug" the choir will bo Mrs G. Kerrett (soprano), of W.inganui, a singer of note in her own city; Mr J. Corbett, a pianoforte soloist of outstanding ability, and Mr F. Hnnt, violinist, of Napier. To all musie-lovers, a very enjoyable programme has been airanged. This concert is being given to holp to maintain an interest in choral work.
