ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

Hastings Members' Fine Record Vietims of accidents to the number of 300 have been treated this year by the members of tho Hastings subcentre of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, which must be regarded as a very creditable service to tbe cwmmunity. Tbe 22 qualified members of tl.o brigade give, their services voluntarily, and many Who have suffered injury at football niatches, sports meetings and in street accidents, as well as those who have suffered from sudden attacks of illness in the streets, or in such places as theatres, have cause to be thankful for the minist nations of a member of the brigade who happena to be on the spot. Theirs is indeed a public service worthy of the support and commendation of the community at large. During tbe year Hastings members of the brigade have undergone a course .of instruction in theory and praetice with Dr. E. Y. Comrie as lecturer, while recently examinations were conducted by Dr. D. A. Bathgate. The following first-year students were successful in the brigade 's first-aid examinations:— James Hawkins, George Wilkins, Jobn Hooper, Arthur Green, Clarence Napier, Harold Cook, David : Mann, Sidney MacDonald, Robert I Miller, James Crawford, Percival
