RIFLE SHOOTING
Mt. Vernon Club On the Mt. Vernon range on Saturday afternoon, the members of the Waipukurau Rifle Ciub fired off the flrst round of the Crooks Cup (two 7 shots at 900 yards). Conditions for shooting were the worst experienced on tlhe range for some considerable time. A heavy mirage and a strong wind caused the riflemen some anxious moments, some drastic changes having to . be made. Poor seores were handed in. It was pleasing to see a first-year shot, Rifleman P.
