Struck by Cricket Ball

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Struck on the head by a cricket ball on Saturday, Alfred Jordan, the 11-year-old son of Mr A. G. Jordan, of Ncw Plymouth, received injuries that resulted in his death in kospital yesterday. The accident occurred in a paddoek during an impromptu game in which several children took part. The boy, who was batting, miss-ed the ball, which was gatkered in by another boy behind the wiCkets. The latter intended to return the ball to the bowler at ihe other end. As he threw it, however, it slipped from his hand and struck Jordan. behind the ear.
