Two Young Men Hope to Become Aviation Experts

AUCKLAND, Last. Night. Adventure-bound, two young men left hy the Awatea on Saturday eveuing for Sydney, en route to England, where they hope to achieve their ideals in aviation in the next two years. Mr J. D. McKenzie, eldest' son of Mr and Mrs T. McKenzie, of Lowor Riccarton, Christchurch, and Mr C. A. Philpott, only son of Mr and Mrs A. C. Philpott, Seatoun Heights, Wellington, will work in different departments cf famous English aeroplane factories to study the technique of production of the various types of aircraft, and at Croydon aerodrome to acquire a working knowledge oi serviee organisation. Mr McKenzie is 23 years of age atifl Mr Philpott is 24, and their interos* in flying goes back to their schoolboy years, when anything which smacked of fiying — model aeroplane constrncI'ion, intcrnal combustion engines, aerial displays and airmen — absorbed all their spare timo.
