WAIPUKURAU POLICE FORCE
Second Constable To Be Appointed
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. As part of the Government's plan to reduce the hours worked by members of the police force, a second constable has been drafted to the Waipukurau Police Station to assist Constable D. Sutton. The date the transfer will take place is as yet indefinite, but efforts are being made to obtain a house for his use. The growlng amount of work in the Waipukurau district has made an additional constable increasingly necessary, and the recent introduction of the 48hour week for policemen has made the question of assistance even more urgent. The riew constable for Waipukurau will be Constable W. R. Thomasen, of Hawera. Constable Thomasen has been stationed in Hawera for about ten years, before which he was with the force in Wellington.
