In the House of Commoos, the Prime Minister, Mr Chamberlain, in xeplying to Mr Ellis Smith, said that inquiries showed that the ' broadcasting of the proceedings in the House of Commons would not be approved by aiiy cornniderable section of the House. Mr Ellis Smith: Is the Premier aware that in a country where • they have a real people 's Government — Cries of "Where is that?" Mr Ellis Smith: New Zealand (Laughter). They have already adopted pariiaanentary broadcasts. He asked for reconsideratlon of the decision, as the people at present were depeddent on newspap* ers controlled by two lords for House of commons news.
