The leaders declared that the liner was bringing Japanese Christmas goods and urged the crowd to prevent them from being nnloaded. • ; Pollowing their refusal to depart, 50 Yaneouver police cleared the dock with a baton charge amidst a barrage of stones and, sticks. Those arrested included four women. The leaders. indicated that, the demonstration was aimed to lead dockworkers to refuse to unlo,ad Japanese cargo. The dockmen ignored their overtures. The police attribute the demonstration to xadicals. The Canadian Paeific Co. is planning to double its dock giiards
