Mr Gillespie, wko was 59 years" of age, was an accountanfc by prof ession and for some years was commercial manager for tke Hawke's Biay Farmers' Co-operative Association at Dannevirke. He came to Auckland about 12 years ago and was in business in Symonds street and later in Parnell as a groeer, but retired owing to illkealtk about two years ago. •
