Hastings to Enforce Parking Regulationss Painting the fire-plugs in the main business area in Hastings is xne latest work tS be undertaken by the borough traliic department and a start with this will be made to-morrow. - This is the first occasion that the plugs havo received the attention of " the authori-' ties and the first batch tb be"painted nuihbers- over 30. • The' inspector, Mr D. Mann, said this morning that it was proposed to paint yellow discs, '2ft. 6ins. in diameter, over all the fire-plugs in Heretaunga street between Hastings and Nelson streets, and also in the intersecting streets between Queen and Eastbourne streets. He pointed out that, under the traffic regulations, motorists were not allowed to park vehieles within 6ft. of the plugs, and it was intended.to take steps to ensure that this regulation is enforced.
