Election of Officers

A further meeting of members of the Elsthorpe Sports Club was held in the hall. In the unavoidable absence of the president, M. E. T. "VVilder, Mr. M. Ityan was in the chair. The secretary reported that the date of the sports, Thursday, January 13, 1938, had been confirmed. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted : Patrqn, Mr. H. M. Christie, M.P. ; president, Mr. E. T. Wilder; vice-president, Mr. M. Ryan; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. Priest; executive committee, Messrs. J. Kenderdine, A. McGaffin, J. Sutherland, I. H. Roberts, D. Smith, L Lissette, E. Hardy ,0. Nelson, \V. McAulay, P. Hayden and A. Thompson. It was decided to adhere to last year's programme with the ' exception tliat a night alarm race is to be substituted for the potato race. It was decided to run the usual bus from Hastings. The matter of catering was left in the hands of the secretary. It was decided to ask the recreation ground trustees to raise the tank at the grounds. The usual dance will be held in the local hall, and Les Henry's orchestra is to be engaged. A further meeting will be held o» December 11.
