NAPIER GUILD CHOIR ENJOY SOCIAL EVENING

The choir of the Napier Townswomen's Guild met at the home of Mrs. P. C. Sorrell, Shamrock street, Napier, on Monday evening to conelude the activities of the year wit% a social evening. The drawing-room where the guests were received was gaily decorated with roses, and antirrhinums. During the evening part songs, duets and vocal solos were rendered by members of the choir, and elocutionary itenis were given by Mrs. O 'Halloran. Two very amusing competitions were won by Mesdames Durie, Lee and West. 'A buffet supper was enjoyed, and at its conclusion presentations were made to Mrs. Rosewarne, Mrs. Fairey and Mrs, Dowjing. , Mrs. Rosewarne made a very charining speech of thanks on behalf of herself and Mrs. Fairdy, who was unfortunately absent. The evening was brought to a conclusion by singing "For they are jolly good f ellows ' ' and Mrs. Sorrell was thanked for acting as hostess. Those present were: Mesdames B. Barnett, Rosewarne, Dowling, Maney, Webb, Walker, Pilcher, Baggett, Chapman, Mackie, Sinclair, Durie, Grange, Dagg, Roberts, Smith, West, Arthur, Nixon, Wolfe, Rawlinson, Lee; Misses Wood, Donelly and Cross.
